I'm Holly Alderman, artist, decorator, collector and writer in fine and decorative arts, and producer of antique scenic wallpaper renewed for new audiences.
I strive to compose perspectives that reveal the spirit and aura of a place with original art and illusions of distance, motion, light, for contemplation and armchair travel.
My French style antiques anew, Views of Italy Dufour scenic wallpaper is now showing at The Berkshire Galleries in Great Barrington MA with a new bicentennial edition in proofs at Wallquest. My renewed flowers and birds auspicious chinoiserie wallpaper, the Hamlen Collection was featured in Traditional Home and ID Boston editorial, and in ads seen in Kips Bay Palm Beach Designer Show House Journal, the Garden Club of America Bulletin, World of Interiors Design Report.
My decorative arts collections include drawings and paintings, prints, photography and collage, many themes of flowers and landscapes, abstracts, geometric symmetry art, painted murals and curtains and furnishings, and more one of a kind decor.
My flower themes include bouquets, flowers in parks, flowering trees, wreaths and garlands, flowering trellises, abstract flowers, antique flowers and walls in bloom, antique folios of historic decorative arts flower patterns and borders from around the world, and more.
I design antique wallpaper rooms as walkabouts that will engage viewers in a lively imaginary visit with the characters of a scene, familiar yet startling, memorable to everyone for whom classical scenes and garden views are well-loved touchstones. I hope to inspire a mood of discovery in faraway travel.
