Explore the power of storytelling in antique panoramas painted with a touch of high comedy, in new digital editions. Join the conversation with Dev Hamlen, founder of the Hamlen Collection, Holly Alderman, art director and Tom Dobbins, T&R Club manager, and learn the unique story behind the wallpaper as an heirloom that arrived in the mid-19th century by clipper ship. On view here for the first time, new custom digital facsimiles of wallpapers never exhibited since being hand painted by gifted artists in China in the early 19th century, and brought to Boston 4 generations ago by Nathaniel Hamlin. Enjoy a garden tour of auspicious symbols among flowering trees as an exotic aviary in elegant chinoiserie. Join the reception. Q & A.
